HER BEAUTY IN THE VALLEY
She had known seasons of sorrow—long stretches where life felt heavy, where grief and despair shadowed her every step. But, in those quiet moments, when she dared to look beyond the darkness, she felt the whisper of a promise. A promise that beauty could emerge from ashes, that her mourning could give way to joy, and that her brokenness could be clothed in something far more glorious.
She thought of the lilies, those delicate blooms symbolizing God’s beauty and purity. In Song of Solomon 2:1, it says, “I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys,” a reminder of God's love—unblemished, steadfast, and for her. Just like those lilies, she was being made new—pure, radiant, and free. In Isaiah 61:3, she found hope: “To provide for those who grieve... a crown of beauty instead of ashes... a garment of praise instead of despair.” She realized that God’s provision wasn’t just for her circumstances but for her spirit—transforming her sorrow into beauty and joy. She wasn’t defined by her sorrow; she was defined by the beauty God had placed within her, a beauty that He had promised to bring forth, no matter the depth of the pain she had endured.
Her heart, like the lilies, was being made new—no longer defined by grief, but by the radiant beauty God had placed within her. And she, like the lilies, would bloom again—pure, radiant, and whole.
