Once in a while, we go through desolate places, where challenges and hardships seem to stretch on endlessly. Yet, amidst these "deserts", there can still be moments of unexpected beauty and sustenance that give us hope. These moments are the "Streams in the Desert," sources of nourishment that quench our thirst for inspiration, purpose and renewal. These streams can emerge in different sizes and ways. From the first drops of rain after a long drought; to a view of an oasis in the middle of large dry land. They can be simple gestures of kindness, or a moment of clarity during a time of confusion, or the warmth of a friend's hug during tough times, or the innocent smile of a child that melts your heart during a tough day, or simple prayer or statement that says, "You are loved. You are blessed. You have a purpose". These moments are life-giving waters that help restore our soul.

If you're going through a seemingly "barren season", I hope you'd recognize streams in the desert. God loves you. There's life and hope in Him.

PS: "Streams in the Desert" was inspired by a book that has helped me verbalize emotions that I couldn't express. Written and compiled by L.B. Cowman, it was first published in 1925 and has been republished and edited in the 2000s ++.
